Deep learning is widely applied in medical techniques because it can extract complex features from large datasets. However, it still faces several challenges, including the need for substantial computing resources and data and difficulties in interpreting complex model results. Therefore, this dissertation focuses on developing deep learning models for detecting and classifying medical fungi. This study designed a parallel dual-network convolutional neural network (CNN) model incorporating a spatial transformer network (STN) to improve generalization stability. The network was further strengthened by integrating drop blocks to filter data and residual blocks to mitigate vanishing gradients in deeper networks. The model was tested on five fungi species: Absidia, Aspergillus, Fusarium, Penicillium, and Rhizopus. Finally, accuracy and precision metrics evaluated the model's fungi detection and classification performance. The training results showed the highest accuracy at 98.30, 98.24, and 98.97% for the drop block, STN, and residual block, respectively. In fungi classification, the drop block achieved precision rates of 92.89, 93.50, 91.78, 96.61, and 95.73% for Absidia, Aspergillus, Fusarium, Penicillium, and Rhizopus, respectively. The STN classified Absidia, Aspergillus, Fusarium, Penicillium, and Rhizopus with precision rates of 95.16, 76.96, 89.33, 100.0, and 77.95%, respectively. The residual block achieved 98.91, 82.50, 94.11, 100.0, and 87.43% with precision rates for Absidia, Aspergillus, Fusarium, Penicillium, and Rhizopus, respectively.
