This independent study aimed to study and compare the factors that influenced the acceptance of financial innovations of a private bank and a government bank in the Bangkok area, focusing on Bangkok Bank and Krung Thai Bank, and to investigate the causes of the rejection of the technologies and the barriers to adoption. The study was based on an application of theories on TAM and TRA. The participants in the study were 400 users of financial transaction applications on smartphones provided by Bangkok Bank and Krung Thai Bank in the Bangkok area. A questionnaire was used to collect data. The data were analyzed by using descriptive and inferential statistics, including frequency, percentage, means, standard deviation, a hypothesis testing analysis of the relationship between variables using Pearson’s Correlation Coefficient, an analysis of differences with the independent samples t-test, and one-way ANOVA with significance level of 0.05. The results revealed that in the case of the private bank, subjective norms influenced the users’ acceptance of the bank’s financial innovations most. In the case of the government bank, the users’ acceptance of the bank’s financial innovations were most influenced by attitudes. Overall, subjective norms were the most influential factors that affected the acceptance of the financial innovations of both the private bank and the government bank.
